Dr. Steven Alexander is native of sunny Southern California, where he grew up in a family that was surrounded by many orthodontists as family friends. Steven confirmed in his mind that orthodontics would be his profession at age eleven as he traveled with his father around Europe with a number of famous orthodontists as they lectured and spent the evenings talking about how beautifully aligned teeth can make a true difference in a life. It seemed natural to want to change lives by giving the gift of a beautiful smile, so Steven set his course and went about achieving his goal.
Steven was highly successful, both academically and in sports, during his high school and college years. He attended Biola University, where he was a closing pitcher and part-time shortstop. He then went on to the University of Pacific School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree, graduating with high honors near the top of his class and earning the opportunity to advance his degree by specializing in orthodontics. Steven attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where he completed his residency in orthodontics and earned a Master of Science degree in Dentistry. He quickly became a Board Certified Orthodontist passing the highest test of clinical proficiency of an orthodontic specialist according to the procedures established by the American Board of Orthodontics, an achievement reserved for only about half of orthodontists in North America.
Latest Advances and Technology
Dr. Alexander is well trained in all of the very latest advances and technology in orthodontics, using many different appliances besides braces to help patients achieve a beautiful smile and functional bite as comfortably and quickly as possible. He is an Invisalign® provider, and we build many clear aligners in our own office, allowing some patients to be treated with this more comfortable alternative to conventional braces. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics and regularly attends the national American Association of Orthodontics meeting each year to stay up to date with the latest discoveries in orthodontic treatment and care. Dr. Alexander regularly visits with other orthodontists, and his dream is to make the Alexander Orthodontics practice a teaching resource where orthodontists from around the world can come to visit to advance their own clinical and management skills.
Personal Life
Dr. Alexander is married to his beautiful bride Emily, who grew up in Texas and enjoys family life with four children. In his free time, Steven enjoys hiking, basketball, fitness, platform tennis, golf, reading, and spending time with friends and family. He is active in his Church and community. He loves to travel, learn, and to bring back to the practice all of the best knowledge and wisdom from other top-flight orthodontists who are also enjoying becoming the best they can be in all areas of life and profession.
